The Committee on Energy and Commerce met in open markup session and took the following actions:
H.R. 2851, a bill to amend the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, the Public Health Service Act, and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to ensure that dependent students who take a medically necessary leave of absence do not lose health insurance coverage, and for other purposes, or "Michelle's Law", as amended by the Subcommittee on Health, was favorably reported, amended, by a yea-nay vote: 40-0-2 voting present.
The following amendments were offered:
A manager's amendment offered by Rep. Pallone, #1, was adopted by a voice vote;
An amendment offered by Rep. Burgess, #2, was ruled non-germane.
H.R. 6432, the “Animal Drug User Fee Amendments of 2008” was favorably reported, amended, by a voice vote.
The following amendments were offered:
A manager's amendment offered by Rep. Pallone, #1, was adopted by a voice vote;
An amendment offered by Rep. Buyer, #2, was adopted by a voice vote.
H.R. 6433, the “Animal Generic Drug User Fee Act of 2008” was favorably reported, amended, by a voice vote.
The following amendment was offered:
A manager's amendment offered by Rep. Pallone, #1, was adopted by a voice vote.
