SUBCOMMITTEE ACTION

Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations

The Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations met in open session, a quorum being present, to authorize the issuance of a subpoena duces tecum to nine business organizations to produce records relating to its investigation into food safety.  The Subcommittee took the following action:

A motion offered by Rep. Stupak, that the Subcommittee authorize the issuance of a subpoena duces tecum, to each of the nine business organizations named in the motion, to produce all records, in unredacted form, created since January 1, 2002, to the present, relating to the sampling, testing, or analysis by such organization of food products that have been imported or offered for import, including, but not limited to, those products that were the subject of an import alert by the Food and Drug Administration, was agreed to by a yea-nay vote: 10 – 0.

 

THE SUBCOMMITTEE ADJOURNED SUBJECT TO THE CALL OF THE CHAIR
